She’s Dead Jim!

Day 254

A little time passed after I shut the Rv power off and concluded the fan motor on the propane furnace must be the source of the problem. To test my theory, I powered up the Rv and quickly turned the furnace off as soon as the environmental controls powered up. I waited for the loud vibrating to kick in and nothing happened, confirming it was the furnace. By now the Rv was cooling off quickly, so I proceeded to start up the heat pump on the air conditioner to begin warming the Rv.

Suspecting it was the motor on the furnace (being the only part that moves), I began opening the access panels to see if I could get any clues. With nothing clearly evident, I figured I would need to remove the furnace from the Rv to get a closer look. I began looking into what was involved in removing the furnace and how to access the motor…. No easy task! This was going to take awhile.

With only two days left at this campground, I decided to see if the service tech who repaired our water leak was available. We had an 11:30 grooming appointment in Tucson today for our furry travel companions, so I booked the tech to come out for tomorrow. I provided all the information he would need for a replacement motor to the furnace, then proceed focus on the pups for the day.

The drive was close to an hour to the groomers in Tucson. We arrived earlier than anticipated (No! I did not speed) and decided to pick up some groceries as we waited. At 11:30 we dropped the pups off and was informed they would be ready in three to four hours. 🤯

We spent the day exploring Tucson, staying in close proximity to the groomers just in case we received a call to pick up the pups earlier than expected, we did not receive the call until shortly after five 😡. We returned home shortly after six and by now the sun had set, eliminating any opportunity to fiddle with the furnace.

Exterior of the furnace….. She’s dead Jim!
Freshly groomed.

The sunset for the evening.
