Settling In

 Day 132

Yesterdays forecast was calling for rain in the evening and Mother Nature did not disappoint. Shortly after supper the rain clouds arrived with a torrential downpour for three to four hours and proceeded to light up from there. I’m not sure when the rain stopped but it was well into the early morning.

Today there were a few things I wanted to clean and repair in the Rv, along with assembling our outdoor patio. With two weeks to spend at our present location, we decided to pace our exploring and hang around the Rv for the day.

A few days back, the new circuit board for the propane ignitor had arrived from Bucars. When I did my original diagnosis of the hot water tank, I used a voltage meter to determine there was no power coming from the circuit board, all the fuses were good and the breaker was on. When I went to replace the circuit board today, part of me was unsure I had used the voltage meter correctly and the board was not the issue. I crossed my fingers when I made the final hookup and called out to lori to turn the hot water tank on. With a click and a flash, the heater came alive, score one for the electrically challenged.

After the hot water tank was repaired, I turned my attention to setting up our outdoor room. The screened room is a little awkward to set up, but once assembled, it provides a fair sized mosquito free room to relax in without taking any of the scenery away. Once the room was up, I swept the floor and placed the picnic table and chairs into the room. Knowing we have a few weeks here, we picked up a puzzle with the intention of spending the fall afternoons piecing it together in the screened room. I carried out a few more tasks before returning to the tent to relax and spend the afternoon reading.

Our setup for the next two weeks.
