First Day of Our Journey

First day on our year plus journey across Canada and the US.

Leaving April we knew we may be in for a little hairy weather, boy did Mother Nature have a surprise for us! We almost escaped the snow fall in Airdrie and I was soaked by the time I had the truck hooked up to the RV and we made it out prior to the snow starting to really pile up!

Thinking we made out out in time, the snow taped off and and the roads cleared up. With a false sense of relief, we relaxed and began to enjoy the drive until we were hit with the first wind gust. From Brooks to Swift Current the wind was fierce! More times than I can count, we were blown about on the highway like a rag doll making me almost poo my pants on a few occasions! I hope my experience in windy weather improves quickly as Lori had to pry my fingers off the steering wheel when we finally arrived for the night in Swift Current. After several stiff drinks in am finally starting to relax.

The last picture of the Canada flag is not a submission to the Freedom goons! This is one one of the huge flags the Husky gas stations have and it was flapping like a wacky waving inflatable tube guy with a slight case of menopause 🤪
