Day 146
As we made our travel plans to cross into the US, we wanted to get close to the border the day prior to crossing to ensure we had plenty of time for any delays or inspections by the US border guards. We settled in the Mactaquac Provincial Park that was one hour from the border and twenty minutes from Fredricton. From here it would be a four hour drive with my driving to Bangor with any additional time spent at the border. We booked our stay in Mactaquac with one additional day to explore Fredricton, so today we headed into town to ship our last few packages of gifts and souvenirs home and drove around Fredricton.
When we were selecting our campground close to Fredricton, we looked into the local attractions of the town and found little that appealed to us, so we spent a little time driving around to see if anything grabbed our eye before we headed back to the campground for the balance of the day. Tomorrow we see if we get access the border.
