Day Twenty Three
By mid afternoon today, the temperature is expected to reach the mid twenties. In the morning we packed up the pups and jumped into the truck, heading off to Manitoulin islands famous beach in Providence Bay for a long walk.
The beach was something I have never seen in real life. It was one of those picturesque images you only see in movies, or pictures. Like Martha’s Vineyard beach from the movie Jaws, or photos you see of beaches in Nantucket. Providence Bay beach is just over a kilometre long with sand dunes running the entire length. Along the back side of the sand dunes there is a boardwalk that ran parallel to the beach. Being early May, the beach was deserted, but I could easily see how this would be a popular summer retreat during the hot summer months.
The local authorities have a bylaw against dogs and horses walking on the beach, so we walked the entire length of the Boardwalk with the pups. good thing we left our horse at the RV today. The day was beginning to get warm near the end of our walk, and the pups were happy to climb into the truck for a cool drink and flop out. We explored the little town of Providence Bay, and headed off towards the town of Mindemoya for some lunch before heading home.
When we arrived back to the RV, the temperature was pushing close to twenty two, I set out our lawn chairs, slipped into some shorts and set into my tasks for today. My plan for the afternoon was to resolve the leak I was having in the lower compartment of the RV. When I opened the compartment, the entire area was dry! I checked all the other compartments to see if the leak had rerouted itself, and nothing! I was unable to locate the source and the liner on the roof seemed dry but is sagging a little, I may make a small cut into the fabric to ensure there is no water on the other side today.
