Day Forty Eight
The morning was cloudy with scattered patches of blue sky. The odd places the sun peeked through, offering you a little hope that the rain maybe moving on. The forecast was saying it will be cloudy with more rain in the afternoon. We decided to make another attempt on heading down to old Quebec City.
Founded in 1608, Quebec City is the only intact heritage site north of Mexico. We made our way into the upper part of the city, located a parking space and began to explore. The Je Cours Qc marathon was on today and the front park in the city was the finish line, making the city crowded with runners and spectators. We explored the town, then headed down to the Dufferin Terrace. We walked along the outer battlements of the city over to the plains of Abraham and then back through the front gates.
We found a small restaurant with a table sitting beside an open window. We ordered a cheese fondue to share between us and watched the people go by. A short time into our meal, the rain finally decided to show and washed the city down, sending people on the streets running for shelter…. Side thought… We really need to buy some umbrellas. By the time we finished our lunch the rain had finished and the sun was again peeking out. We explored the town for a few more hours and decided it was time to return to the pups.
