Day Twenty Eight
The weather called for rain today, so we opted out of our plan to go golfing, and do a day of sightseeing around the island. We drove to bridal veil falls on the northern end of the island for a small hike along the Kagawong river. The trail started at the falls and worked its way through a heavily forested valley towards the town of Kagawong. The weather was cloudy, and threatened to rain on a few occasions but turned out to be a pretty dry day.
After our small hike, we headed east towards Sheguiandah Bay. We were told the Ten Mile Point trading post located there had a spectacular view of Lake Huron. The trading post was nestled between the bays of Sheguiandah and Manitowaning and the view was indeed spectacular. This part of the island was situated on high hills, enabling you to see from the bay of Sheguiandah, over to Strawberry Island, to Haywood Island in the distance. Lori did a little shopping in the trading post, and we started heading southwest towards home.
