A small piece of Europe

 Day 51

Driving around Quebec City has taken us past the lower part of old Quebec a few times. As we passed, there really did not appear to be to much to see. Today, we visited the Lower part and I was blown away. If you blindfolded me and dropped me into the upper part, I would figure out that we are in Canada. If you did the same in the lower part of the city, I would have guessed we are someplace in Europe. In my opinion the lower part of the city leaves more to the imagination of being in a small European town.

The lower part consists of a few cobblestone streets leading to the town centre. You could explore the area in a half hour if you rushed through it. Lori and I spent a few hours slowly moving down the streets, reliving the feeling of our visits to Europe. Like in Europe, I found myself sitting on the church steps in the town centre, as Lori shopped the little stores ðŸ™ƒ. We had lunch at one of the many restaurants here, we picked a table by an open window to watch the bustling activity on the street. After lunch,  Lori could not turn down the crème brulee the restaurant was serving for desert. After lunch we headed up the street to where the road turned to pavement leading to the upper city. We turned back towards the town, enjoying the fantasy of this small place as we headed for our vehicle.
