Day 145
It had rained on and off throughout the night. When the pups and I left for our morning walk, the rain had moved on leaving cloudy skies in its wake. The ground was wet and the dogs again managed to get their entire undercarriage sopping wet….. still can’t figure that out. When I returned, I proceeded to towel off the pups before releasing them into the Rv.
Shortly after breakfast we began to pack the Rv for our departure. As we were preparing the slides to be retracted, our neighbour, who was also form Alberta, was making their preparations to depart. I walked over and wished them a safe journey home, in return, I was wished a safe travel to the US and then proceeded to be bombarded with their frustration at the border for refusing anti vaxxers to cross; I made no comments and just listened until they were finished and said my goodbyes. I returned to the Rv to continue my tasks when I saw the neighbour’s truck stuck on something. I had presumed they had managed to get stuck in some mud and headed outside to offer my assistance. As I rounded our Rv I noticed that they had driven over the water and power post for their site, and were stuck on it. Within a few minutes they managed to get the post out from under them and moved out. In their wake they left an interesting scene.
We finished packing up and began our trip to Fredericton, NB. Our home for the next few days is in the Mactaquac Provincial park, located just across the Saint John River from Fredericton. During our journey, we stopped at Rv world just outside of Fredericton to replenish our propane before heading to the campground. I mentioned to the attendant on how difficult it was to find propane refill stations for onboard propane tanks, he proceeded to inform me that if I was headed to the US, look for the Flying J or Pilot truck stops, these companies will be your best friend for water, sewer and propane. I thanked him for the advice and headed to our campground.
Around three we pulled into our campsite and found it was extremely sloped. We made several attempts on levelling the Rv with wood blocks, but there was no way we were going to have any success. I called the office and requested if we could move to a vacant site that was across from our current one, they agreed and we quickly moved, set up was done in minutes.
