When we moved our Rv over from the county park, I extended our stay at the new Rv park by a few days to ensure we managed to explore everything we wanted to see. Today the weather forecast was calling for sunny skies with a high of 21, perfect day for a drive through the hills of California and over to the coast.
We started our drive north into the hills above Santa Paula to a hummingbird sanctuary that turned out to be nothing more than a small trail leading to a rivers edge. No hummingbirds, or even a sign mentioning hummingbirds was present. Abandoning our hopes on the sanctuary, we continued north to Ojai [O - HI] before turning west towards Ventura along the Pacific Ocean. The scenery did not disappoint during the drive, and I can certainly understand the attraction to California, the place can go from desert to lush green hills in the matter of hours.
We pulled into Ventura around noon and headed for the San Buenaventura beach for a break. Just before the beach we came across an In-N-Out burger drive through. Deciding to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Costner who admitted in an article that the In-N-Out was his favourite place for a burger, we decided to give it a try. We picked up our burgers and headed over to the beach for a view while we ate. At the parking lot, I stopped at the automated parking meter to see what an hours worth of parking would cost, minimum charge was $10.00 regardless of how long your stay was going to be, ouch! Going to have to take a freebie on this one Ventura! I drove past the meter and parked the truck quickly in anticipation for lunch. We ate our lunch and concluded that the In-N-Out was nothing special, next time we are having drinks with Kevin I will enlighten him on where to find a better burger. After lunch, we headed east to Santa Paula before turning north towards home.
This was supposed to be a hummingbird sanctuary.
Stopped in Ojai for a short period.
When we arrived home, the Peacocks were hanging around the campsite beside us.

Houdini #1
We gave up on the dog wall, the pups always managed to find a way around it. Now we just have to hope they don’t make to much of a nuisance of themselves.
