Day 267
It was very peaceful last night at the campground, being only one of two Rv’s in the back section of the campground. There was nothing for the dogs to bark at from the front window, and we didn’t have to worry about coming across other dogs when we walked them. Earlier in the morning I was awakened by coyotes howling in the hills beside us that sounded like little kids screaming their heads off, I was surprised that Lori and the pups did not wake considering how close the coyotes were.
In the morning Lori confessed she had a horrible night and was really struggling with her tooth infection. Deciding that she would have to deal with issue, I presented several options for her; one, we head home but that would take about a week; two, we could drop down to Yuma and walk over to Mexico and see a dentist there; or three, just bite the bullet and pay to have it done here. Lori chose option number three, assuming we could find a dentist willing to take her right away. Luck would have it she found one and made an appointment tomorrow for an assessment.
After dealing with the dentist appointment, we did a few searches around Temecula for any must see attractions to do today. Our searches turned up little, other than wine tasting and tours from the local wineries. Deciding we need a little more in-depth information we headed for the visitors centre in downtown Temecula to get the lowdown.
When we reached Downtown Temecula, it was evident that it was a popular weekend getaway for Las Angeles and San Diego with lots of small shops and restaurants lining the streets. After a quick visit to the visitors centre we explored the shops, walking the entire length of Main Street before heading back to settle into one of the restaurants for a nice lunch.
During lunch we decided to check out one of the wineries and headed for Mount Palomar Winery that was recommended by the visitors centre for its beautiful view of the valley. Once at the winery we checked out the views and did a little wine tasting, naturally.
When we returned back to the Rv, we had some tenters setting up camp just across from us. Their spot was backed onto the hills that surrounded the campground making it an ideal private spot. Around Six o’clock I was outside cooking supper when the coyotes started screaming from the hills that the tenters were backed onto. I watched in amusement as I saw flashlights flicking around the tent and vehicles in a frantic manner, I hope they knew it was just coyotes.
