Count Temicula

Day 266

Our Destination for the next week is Southern California’s wine country of Temecula. Here, there is over forty wineries with more than 35,000 acres of producing vineyards. We had been informed that the Temicula Valley is now the largest between Napa, Sonoma and itself, but I have been unable to back that claim up with any solid evidence.

Our trip to Temicula was only an hour and a half drive from Palm Spring, having to cross over the San Jacinto mountains that ran between the two. After we crossed, I was surprised to see how fertile and lush the area was. It has been close to two months crossing Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, so to see everything so green was a nice change. When we arrived at the Temicula/Vail Lake KOA, we quickly located our campsite and began to get settled in for the balance of the day. The campground itself was surprisingly huge and we were required to drive a fair distance to reach our spot located at the far end of the campground.

That evening Lori had finished her anti-inflammatory medication for her tooth and concluded they were having no effect on the inflammation, we will need to discuss our options on what we should do.

We were pretty much by ourselves at the back section of this campground. Very peaceful.
