Potholes Ahead!

**Please note, our campground for the next six days is in a cell dead zone. We will do our best to get them out when we can.

Day Seventy Six

With the rustling of the puppies in their beds, the day started early. I rose from my slumber and prepared the leashes for our morning walk. The pups lead the way, as we went outside. Not sure on what to expect for weather, we stepped out into clear morning skies.

The day was going to be a long one with a five hour jump. Our next destination is north of Gander at Johnathon’s Pond Campground. Our stay here will put us within reach for some whale watching, and puffin nesting grounds…. Among other things…. of course.

We packed up the RV early and headed into town to replenish the propane, fuel, and pick up a few items from Canadian Tire. It was around ten when we finally made to the highway heading north. Compared to our drives when we started our journey, I would have to say it went very well. Instead of dealing with my inexperience of driving an RV, I was faced with a highway littered with serious potholes. You know it’s bad when the province has posted signs along the highway cautioning you about the potholes. As I continued to do my best dodging the potholes, the wind did its best to blow me off my lane. By mid afternoon, I was happy to arrive at Johnathon’s Pond in one piece.

We quickly set up the RV, and I took a shot on repairing the ball seal on the toilet. I had some moderate success, but will need to look for a replacement seal once we get to St. John’s. tomorrow we are heading north to Twillingate for a wine tour, and hopefully see some whales.
