Cats & Dogs

 Day 117

The rain came in sideways today, forcing us to batten down the hatches and make ourselves comfortable in the Rv while the cats and dogs fell outside.

We decided to sit and discuss the cross over to the US that’s coming faster than we imagined. We have never planned a lengthy trip like this and our biggest dilemma is “when do you cross over?” We have approximately six months in the US (hopefully) before we must return to Canada. How do you plan it so that you are not waiting too long in Canada  and get caught by the cold weather, but wait long enough so that your not being sent back to Canada in February?

If we cross over mid October, that should put our arrival back in Canada in early April, but will force us to drive quickly through a few states to escape the freezing temperatures. Lori’s not to keen on passing a few states without checking them out, but I feel we won’t have a choice. Most campgrounds in Canada, and the upper US States start to shut down late October. Its not until Connecticut that the campgrounds become year round.

We feel our crossover into the US will be in October, what date we have not figured out. Until then we will be heading back to PEI with plans to spend most of September there.

Being a wet and cool day, Lori decided to make her favourite, roast beast and yorkshire pudding.
