Day 241
Today our initial plan was to visit the White Sands Missile Museum. Unfortunately, when we checked it’s hours of operation, we discovered it was temporarily closed. Making a change in our itinerary for today, We decided to head back to the White Sand National Park for a picnic and an afternoon of wondering sand dunes.

This hard mound is created by a plant that turns the sand into a hard surface, enabling it to keep solid ground when the wind removes the sand around it.
