Quit Shaking the Rv

Day 242

Today we depart from Alamogordo and head for Las Cruses, New Mexico for two nights. Our stay in Alamogordo has been filled with fabulous little experiences, we are so glad we made the move.

One final experience I need to add happened on the afternoon of the 16th. Lori was relaxing in a recliner in the front of the Rv, and I was working on the blog in the bedroom. As I lied there, the Rv began to sway back and forth. I put my iPad down and began to listen in an effort to figure out what the heck Lori was doing. As it continued, Lori called out to me, asking what the heck I was doing.

Realizing neither of us was swaying the Rv, I jumped from the bed and quickly ran outside. I envisioned finding two kids rocking the Rv or a pair of legs sticking out from under the Rv as a thief works on cutting our catalytic converter free. Once outside I found no one around the Rv, and the swaying motion stopped. The next day, Lori learned we had experienced an aftershock from a 5.3 earthquake in Texas.

Our accommodation at the Alamogordo KOA was excellent. We had selected one of the average camping stalls and arrived with no expectations. The campground was located inside the town Alamogordo, which would give me a little concern on security, but having experience in building walls, they had established a secure fence, giving me the piece of mind walking the dogs in the dark.

We were all chilling when the Rv began to rock.

Early morning departure from Alamogordo.
Entering the missile range one more time.
