Day 252
It’s our departure day from Willcox and we head west towards Tucson, then north to Picacho. We plan to celebrate new years there before making our way to California. Our departure this morning was a little earlier than usual with the goal of getting to Picacho before noon to meet with an Rv tech about our water leak.
After we closed up the Rv, Lori drove the truck to the front gate and I took the Rv to the propane refill station close by for a top-up. Once there I jumped out of the Rv and headed to the campground office for assistance in the propane fill. Lori in the meantime remembered the the fridge was left running and went inside to shut it off. That’s when she noticed water was running out from under the couch…. I guess the leak was worse than originally thought and just a little water was escaping through the sink drain exit.
Lori cleaned up what she could and placed paper towel where the water was coming out. Knowing there was nothing we could do about it, and the fact that we were on our way to meet a repair man, we filled our propane and then slipped off to the closest gas station to fuel the Rv and hook the truck up for towing.
The drive to Picacho KOA was mostly rainy with the wind picking up just before Tucson. We arrived at the campground shortly before noon and quickly set up for the repairman. Once set up, we began looking into the extent of where the water was going. We discovered the water had worked its way under the cabinet and soaked the carpet where the recliners were, pooling along the back wall….ðŸ˜
$500 dollars later in repairs on three connectors, we are again leak free, What a mess! We continued to clean up any remaining water before settling down for the night.
