Cavendish

Day 119

The weather forecast for PEI is expected to be sunny with clear skies for the next little while. Our first destination back on the island is the KOA in Cavendish, just northwest of Charlottetown. This area is a family paradise, with multiple amusement parks and local shops lining the highway. On our first visit through the area it was very quiet, with all the parks still not open for the season. This time it’s a zoo, everything is open and the place is booming.

The KOA campground is a huge surprise, this campground caters to the families and they really go all out. There is a massive playground in the centre of the park, a race track for remote control cars, petting zoo, and a large pool. The staff are extremely friendly and put out all kinds of entertainment for the mob of kids, such a wagon rides, a foam making machine that crates a massive mountain of foam, movies in the field, water fights with the staff, pancake breakfasts, candy bingo, a Mardi Gras celebration and parade.

Today I was on a mission to visit the local Rv dealer and see if they would be able to help with the Levelling issue. We drove to the Pine Acres Rv dealership in Kensington and pulled up to what looked like a small house and a single garage, surrounded by new Rv units; I certainly did not have a good feeling about this. I went inside, and it was pretty much was a gutted house with a parts store in the centre and small rooms off the the sides as offices. I was directed to the service bedroom..errr office and waited for the service girl to finish on the phone. As I waited, I looked for some parts I had just ordered on Amazon, believing I should have supported the brick and mortar stores. That thought was quickly changed when I discover the store wanted $98.00 dollars for the same part I bought online for $24.90.

After a short while the girl finished and I mentioned I was looking to have some service work done on my Rv, She didn’t even inquire on the issue, what type of unit, or seriousness of the problem, I was just told they are booked until late September, giving me a “bugger off vibe” as she told me, I thanked her for her time and left.

Looks like I may need to become my own repairman and will begin researching the technical data of my levellers. After that we picked up a few groceries and headed home for my first lesson on Rv levelling 101.
