Stolen! One Grey Water Dump

 Day Thirty One

We awoke this morning to the rain tap dancing on the roof of the RV. As the rain fell, I noted to Lori that I was glad we stowed all the outdoor gear yesterday, in preparation for our departure today. After a quick breakfast, we began pack up. Both of us are settling into our routines and our shutdowns no longer look like the Laurel and Hardy Show.

Our destination is a campground called Horseshoe Lake Camp & Cottages, just South East of Parry Sound. It was not our first pick; but was the only place we found to be open. The drive to the campground was enjoyable, the skies were grey and the wind was very calm, making it a very enjoyable drive.

Fortunately we have not had to fill the RV up with gas since we arrived at Manitoulin Island. Fuel prices out here are around $2.19. I will be a little scared to see the bill on the next refuelling ðŸ˜±

We stopped in Parry Sound for a few groceries around two o’clock, then headed to the campground twenty minutes away. The campground is nice and our lot is spacious, clean, well groomed and surrounded in dense woods. but for the price, I would say it’s not worth the stay. Upon arrival, we began our set up and started with levelling the RV. The ground was uneven and the rear tires are off the ground by almost two inches on one side, and an inch on the other. I corrected this by stacking 2x8 sections of wood under the tires.

Just prior to our departure, I contemplated on building stackable 12”x12x6” blocks for the levellers to rest on. Doing this would make it so the levellers would not need to come down as far, reducing the wobble inside the RV. I opted out of this with concerns for storage; I’m thinking I should have built them now!

Once we had everything set up, I noticed we were again, missing our grey water dump! I called the office and they sent someone over to show me. A young girl arrived and walked around the site, unable to locate the entrance for the grey water, she left to fetch someone else. A short time later, a young gentleman arrived and wondered around the site. He too was unable to locate the grey water opening. After a short time walking around, explained it must have been taken by past occupants…. Now… I still say I’m new at this…. But how the hell do you take a grey water dump entrance? He left to discuss with his boss and said he would be back.

Another short time goes by and the young girl returns, she apologizes for not having the grey water dump and offered a free dump at their main entrance when I need it. I gracefully thanked her for the offer; in my mind I was thinking…. “Holly shit! Your camping fees are exorbitant to begin with, and I was going to have to pay for my dump on the way out..… Wow ðŸ˜®

Knowing our grey tank could handle the five days here, I felt it was not worth getting up in knots about… could be worse… just read the first few weeks of our posts…..lol.
