Setting Boundaries

 Day Thirty

Our final day on Manitoulin Island.

The morning arrived with an amazing sunrise followed by blue skies. We made plans to spend the morning hiking with the pups, then head over to our private little beach with a good book for the afternoon. A cold breeze rolled in late morning, the sun did it’s best warm us from it, but the chill prevailed and we headed home. We spent the afternoon doing RV maintenance and cleaning house in preparation for our departure tomorrow. I stowed all the outdoor gear, and headed inside to read in the warmth of the RV.

Living in the RV with two dogs has definitely been interesting. Back home the house was big enough that the dogs would have their own personal space and lounging locations. In the RV, the pups are preferring to lounge on us! If I sit in the theatre seating, they have to sit on me in the theatre seating, if I go to the bed, they have to go to the bed, if We are at the table for dinner or a game, they are at the table…… hopefully for some of our dinner..

Being such a small, low table, the pups are mere inches from the food. Gizmo, we know would never take it upon himself to take food, Sophie, on the other hand, acts like we never feed her and would not hesitate to swipe food, as Lori’s cookie a few days ago will attest. Yesterday we made a rule that the pups are not allowed at the table during meals, so far, we have met protests and picketing.

We will help you eat that!
