Roswell

Day 234

They say that there could be in excess of 10 septillion (that’s 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) planets in the observable universe. And if any of those worlds are similar to earth, the odds that they host life are nine times better than the odds they’re lifeless and barren.

We all know the stories and Hollywoods spin on the alien crash of June 14, 1947. Today Lori and I head to Roswell to see if they can make a true believer out of us. In our anticipation in visiting Roswell, we pictured a very small town filled with alien fanatics, extraterrestrial shops, restaurants and museums. Much to our surprise the town was bigger than we imagined with just a small handful of shops alien orientated.

When we arrived, our first stop was the visitors centre for advice on the best places to visit. Of course, the alien museum was at the top of their list, along with a few alien entertainment centres. Everything was within walking distance so we left the truck and headed for the alien museum first. The museum was well done considering most of the displays consisted of documents and eye witness reports. After an hour of intense reading and observing the few dioramas they had, we left feeling a little positive about the UFO crash, but not sold on it. As Carl Sagan said “Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence, and ordinary explanations easily surpass the absence of extraordinary evidence”.

After we left the museum we headed over too two small attractions for a little alien fun. The first location was similar to the amusement park rides where you walk through haunted passages and rooms, only this was done with an alien theme in black lights. It only took five minutes to walk through and emptied our pocket of twenty dollars to do so, but in the spirt of being here, we had fun going through it. The second one was apparently a spaceship simulation ride, but unfortunately we arrived just when the only staff person working was going on lunch and recommended we come back in and hour.

We decided to go for lunch ourselves, and look for any any other sights that we could see during our visit, which we found nothing that peaked our interest, so we finished our lunch and begin our trek back to the Rv.

Roswell McDonalds and Dunkin’ Donuts are in on the attraction scene.

Welcome the the Roswell visitors centre.
International UFO Museum and Research Centre.
If an alien race is advanced enough to travel the galaxy, why are they secretly coming here to check out our buttholes.
According to the farmer who discovered the crash and a few military and medical professionals that have come forward over the years indicate there was four alien life forms found at the crash. Three were dead and the fourth was still alive but gravely wounded.

Something did crash out there and the Air Force does not dispute that. After the crash, the Army spent a considerable amount of time detaining, interrogating and threatening towns people that it was not a UFO, a little excessive for a downed experimental weather balloon. If it was only an experimental weather ballon, why has the military not released all documentation of the event, now seventy five years later. The most top secret cold war era plane of the 1950s, the Blackbird spy jet has schematics of the plane posted online today, and documented history has been released by the military. But this mysterious weather ballon still remains under lock and key.

Merry Christmas form Mokele-Mbembe and crew.
This is a replica of the sarcophagus cover for the Mayan ruler Pakal. It is believed that the Mayans were visited by aliens and in doing so this Mayan ruler had carvings depicting a being flying a space craft. The photo below breaks the museums interpretation of it down.

Being a little curious about this sarcophagus, I decided to do a little research. According to Mayan scholars an hieroglyphs experts, a space being is not what is depicted at all. One article walks you through the interpretation of the carvings according to what the hieroglyphs on the sarcophagus show and talk about. They reveal the ruler is buried below what the Mayans call The World Tree and shows his rebirth as a god-king.
Countless movies have been made pertaining to UFO’s and alien visitors, making it big money for Hollywood.
Path the the Roswell UFO Spacewalk.
The spacewalk reminded me of the walkthrough mazes at carnivals.

In conclusion, we had fun, but Roswell was not what we had imagined it to be.
