Day 177
We began our trek back east towards Myrtle Beach for a few days before making our way towards Orlando, Florida for Halloween at Disney World. Our first leg of the journey was to skirt around Memphis as we headed for highway 72 towards Decatur, Alabama, where we will stay for the night. As we progressed around Memphis we passed a few more of the Tennessee highway fatality boards that surprisingly had changed in the two days of our stay. Sadly, eighteen more fatalities had been recorded for 2022, what’s odd though is five more fatalities had been added to the 2021 count…. Weird or what?
Our drive was expected to be close to seven hours today, passing through the northern state of Mississippi before heading into Decatur in Alabama where will stay the night at the Wheeler lake KOA. We arrived around three in the afternoon and was disappointed to discover our campsite was absolutely awesome! This is where you would like to spend a few days, but unfortunately we were back on the road tomorrow.
