Day 112
The Bay of Fundy along the coast of New Brunswick is a gorgeous place to visit and explore. The winding roads bring you close to the bay with plenty of places to stop for photos, while they lead you to villages, giving you the opportunity to take in the view while you explore the local artisan shops.
Our destination today is the sea caves of St. Martin. Located close to town, the caves are accessible from a beach adjacent to the cliffs. During high tide the caves are flooded with sea water, which we unfortunately arrived on. At low tide the water retreats far enough into the Bay, allowing you to walk into the caves to explore. Since we could not walk there, I took the opportunity to view the caves with the drone, while Lori did a little beach combing.
After the the caves we headed to Saint John to explore the the local boardwalk and market square along the harbour. Little did we know the entire area was closed in January of this year for a major refurbishment project. They did have a cool little cargo container village with little shops and restaurants housed inside the shipping containers. We explored the little village and Main Street for a little before deciding to begin our trek home.
