Day Thirty Five
Tomorrow we depart from Horseshoe Lake and turn South towards Fenelon Falls. The stay in Horseshoe Lake Campground had served its purpose and provided us a place to hold up through the long weekend. The campground was filled to the brim with weekend campers and seasonal owners. The atmosphere was jovial as the seasonal owners greeted each other with enthusiasm, and all the transient sites were filled with families set up and enjoying their weekend get away. Seeing how busy the campground was, put any concern I had of why management would not move us from the site with the stolen grey water hookup.
Today we headed to Bracebridge that was fifty minutes to the Southeast of us. I entered our destination into my iPhone maps and selected the most roundabout path to Bracebridge in hopes of seeing more of this amazing cottage country. The journey to the town did not disappoint, most of the cottages are absolutely amazing, built right along, and even on the water. These houses boasted beautiful views of the lake with boat houses and docks placed out in front, able to hold any water toy you could dream of.
Like Parry Sound, Bracebridge turned out to be another sleepy little town with not much to see. The town was situated along the Bracebridge falls. At the base of the falls the town made a huge park for visitors and locals to enjoy. The falls themselves have been partially replaced with a dam, removing some of natural wonder of the falls, so we quickly moved on. We backtracked to a town we passed through, and stopped for a burger at a local outdoor bbq a gentleman had set up. After we ate, we walked over to an antique store we and explored his wares for short time. By mid afternoon we headed home for the evening.
